stormdogThrift store frustration. I've finally made a firm decision not to buy any more stuff at thrift stores until I have a source of income. So of course, I'm regularly seeing things I've looked for for years and never seen. I've looked at hundreds of keyboards at thrift stores, hoping to find a velocity sensitive unit. The SA in Evanston now has a "touch-sensitive" 76-key Yamaha for about $120. *sighs* If anyone local is looking for a nicer keyboard, cheap....
A week or two ago, I took a trip with Posi to the Goodwill near him. On the way, I was talking about vintage hi-fi gear and saying that I'd really like to have a stand-alone stereo amplifier rather than an integrated reciever, but you never see those at thrift stores. In the store, of course, was a stand-alone stereo amplifier for about $30. It was an '80s unit, and not anything amazing, but still.
