Custom Hearing Aids?

I saw this thing on Facebook with the headline "What if you could buy hearing aids over the counter." Not directly related, but it gave me an idea. What if you could get custom hearing aids?
You go somewhere where you can get tested for your hearing at the whole series of typically audible frequencies, but especially the higher frequencies, like 14khz and up, where people often have hearing loss. Then you get a firmware programmable hearing aid with a custom curve that corrects for your personal hearing range, like an equalizer can correct for room acoustics?
