Due to absurdly low call-volume again today, people are being let go early on a volunteer basis. After checking with my sweetie to make sure it's ok, I'm going to be out of here at noon today and she's going to come pick me up. Whee!
Andrea, I dearly appreciate you; you know that, right?
It also looks like we're going to be buying that Escort station wagon Andrea'a been looking at. We had essentially decided that, if that car didn't work out, we'd almost be better off sticking with just one car until after the move, but I'm glad things have worked out the way they have. I know Andrea and I will be less stressed with two vehicles and that is worth a lot of other inconvenience, including a somewhat depleted savings account.
Actually, I'm not worried about money as much as I might be; I've heard back from two different employment agencies (both of whom initiated contact with me rather than the other way around which I take as a very good sign) and I've had one interview out there already. I'm actually feeling kinda good about my job prospects out there.
The only other thing I have to say right now (well, honestly I have a number of other things to say right now but none of them are organized coherently right now), is that I just starting reading Tim Matson's Round Trip to Deadsville. Andrea pointed it out to me while we were in a discount book store as something I might be interested in and I'm glad she did. I may get around to offering a fully considered opinion once I'm all the way through it, but it really is intersting and though-provoking.
*Yawns widely* It was a long weekend. Maybe I'll take the extra time today and catch up on a little sleep. On the other hand, I may just take our stack of empty boxes out of the truck and start packing...
'Till next my friends!
