Walk with Danae

Danae and I went for a walk on the grounds of the Bahá'í Temple in Wilmette on Sunday afternoon. The dew-dappled flowers, the richly blue fountain basins, and the chipmunks that darted between them were part of making it a thoroughly beautiful afternoon. The building was breath-taking, as always, even without the sparkles that more direct light bring out on it's surface. The overcast sky makes the photo she took of me a bit gray, but in truth it was a marvelous place to be and see.

When Danae pointed out we were back where we started, I'd thought we'd only made it half way around. I got lost in the repeating geometry of the gardens and the company of my partner. It was a lovely impromptu date that will make me smile for a long time.

Not everyone looks good in a skirt, regardless of what chromosomes they were born with. I hate wearing skirts and dresses myself. That outfit suits your build. You seem to have learned how to pick out clothes that flatter you - something some people never do get ;-)

I kind of feel like some of it is luck, and some is help from my partner. But I'm working on it. Thanks. *smiles*

I think the idea you mention in another post, about wearing gender-bending clothes to someone's party, is a good idea. The more you get used to dressing that way, the easier it will be for you. And the more that the people you know get used to seeing you dressed that way, the more they'll accept it. A neat skirt and blouse are just about as ubiquitously appropriate as neat slacks and shirt.

I want to get some more skirts and blouses and things like that that are appropriate for social functions. My wardrobe is pretty limited at the moment, but I'm working at enlarging it and learning about how to combine things!

Do you have Photoshop Elements? The Auto Haze Removal feature will help, somewhat, on that image.

I actually have the full PS2 at home. I'm always amazed at how well a few bits of editing can remove fog. I thought about doing more touch up with it except for two things:

I wanted to get it posted without waiting to go home after work

I was so very nervous about posting a picture of myself dressed that way that the haziness kind of made me feel a little safer.

Those are both very valid reasons!

I was excited at the cool way the Haze Reduction changed my photos from the mountains.

I remember some pictures I took of the Lake Michigan shore on a foggy day that cleaned up amazingly well!

Thanks! *grins* Maybe I'll try one, one of these days. I've wanted a Utilikilt or an Alt Kilt for a long time, but they're expensive.

The genuine Scottish item has yards of fine quality material and is not cheap.

That's a whole different category.

My mother's family, Woods, is Irish. Maybe there's be an appropriate tartan for me to wear.

The Irish kilt is a sort of plain orangey brown one rather than tartan but they do exist.

My Scottish ancestry is lowland- Scott, a bunch of dodge border reivers and Cockburn (pronounced coe-burn) so no clan colours.

The Scot is entitled to the Hunter tartan.

My Irish ancestry isn't the typical group either; they were Irish Protestants, I'm told. I guess that means I should wear orange on St. Patrick's Day...
