...
One pedal wrench ($13-ish) later, I have my new pedals on Longing. He's a little funny-looking with narrow road tires and big metal, studded mountain-bike pedals. But the tires make sense for commuting on city streets, and the pedals make sense as durable devices that will deal well with rain and snow.
These pedals even came with a little wrench for installing and removing individual studs. I guess I could make one side flat for riding with shoes I don't want potentially damaged by the studs?
Now I just need to get the gears perfectly adjusted (it won't shift into the lowest chainring) and I'll be doing really well! And I can ride without that anyway.
I took Rufus with me to the bike store. It was kind of like walking a chipmunk. He got excited by a squirrel and wanted to chase it up a tree. It was bigger than he was!
