Canopy Bed!

I was hunting for cute shoes at thrift stores today. That was an utter failure (though I was brave enough to sit down in a busy aisle and try two pairs on so maybe not such an utter failure?). But I did find a curtain made of a light gauzy fabric that seemed worth a try as a bed canopy.
We've had this bed frame since not long after we moved in. It was an affordable king frame and Miriam knew I've wanted a canopy bed since forever. It's a weird sort of frame though: a ring in the middle with arms extended to the corners rather than a rectangle that matches the base. My parents sent me some fairy lights to go on it, but they didn't really work on this design. (I put them on the living room wall instead!) I thought the best thing to do would be to just drape some fabric over the thing, but hadn't ever gotten around to finding fabric.
I don't know how well it will work out day-to-day. It might tend to slip off, or get in our way. But looking at it right now is making me happy.
