I spent a while trying to figure out why my Intellistation wasn't producing audio with 2003 Enterprise Server installed. The hardware and driver seemed to be fine, but the computer kept telling me that no audio manager was installed. I hunted all around the web for info on new drivers for 2003 or for the Intellistation in general, but to no avail. I even opened up the server to install a seperate sound card until I realized that the one I had lying around was an ISA, and the server has only 32 and 64 bit PCI slots.
Finally, after looking around on the net for info on 2003, I found out that 2003 Enterprise has the audio service disabled by default. Everything was installed just fine; it was just disabled. I suppose that makes sense. Most enterprise level installations of 2003 server aren't going to make use of it. I'm just glad I can use the speakers that I spent $10 of my precious liquid assets on today while with my mate at the computer surplus store in Gurnee Mills. I can finally listen to my DNS training course.

In other news, after having had much fun (and having purchased a few Christmas presents for my love), Moira and I spent a truly wonderful evening at home, the latter part of which consisted of watching The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. At this late hour, my brian rapidly closing down into sleep mode while I wait for my lovely mate to finish up at her computer, all I can say about it is the following:
Boat. Boat boat boat boat!
Lion?
Boat. Boat boat boat......
Zzzzzzzzz.
