Something that occurred to me while working on my Proliant ML570:
Ok: I've never listened to much jazz. I don't know a lot about the genre. I hate the stuff that I've heard called 'light jazz' nearly as much as I hate light food. It's the the musical equivalent of diet pop. (Yes, I know; some of you actually like diet pop. This just reaffirms my belief in the existence of the archetypical universal mystery.)
Right; as I was saying, never listened to much jazz. But I think I'd like to. Do any of my readers have favorite composers and/or compositions? Recommend some to me! I really like things like the Dave Brubeck Quartet's Take Five and most of what I've heard of George Gershwin (he's considered jazz, right?), though I'm usually feeling like something a little bit more lively than Rhapsody in Blue.
What do y'all like?
