Feb. 22nd, 2003 12:34 amIt felt like Spring today, for the first time this year. The weather is warming up. As I walked out of work today (at 10:00 P.M. !) I was drawn over to the edge of the parking lot. Kenzerco's office park borders on a lake surrounded by a bit of swampland. Something in the air pulled me in that direction. Standing at the border of the lot, I could smell it in the breeze. There was the melting lake, the awakening swamp, the trees coming out of their long sleep... It was all somehow right there in the air. Ahhhh, it was wonderful. Earlier in the day, I had gone outside for a break and there were flocks and flocks of geese overhead. They numbered in the thousands. Sometimes, when the flocks were right overhead, they would spread their wings and the reflection of the sun off the lake would hit them just right, and they gleamed like burnished metal. Thousands of shining golden vessels seeking their home port... It was unexpectedly beautiful.
Turns out I don't need to work tomorrow. Instead, I will be over at the Rhode Opera House hanging lights for Nunsense. My only comment: I am not surprised at this turn of events. Hopefully I'll get done soon enough to do something fun. Not that I really dislike working at the theatre. I just don't like it quite so much as I used to. *repeats to himself* I will not run lights for Nunsense, I will not run lights for Nunsense, I will not run lights for Nunsense...
