It felt like Spring today, for the first time this year. The weather is warming up. As I walked out of work today (at 10:00 P.M. !) I was drawn over to the edge of the parking lot. Kenzerco's office park borders on a lake surrounded by a bit of swampland. Something in the air pulled me in that direction. Standing at the border of the lot, I could smell it in the breeze. There was the melting lake, the awakening swamp, the trees coming out of their long sleep... It was all somehow right there in the air. Ahhhh, it was wonderful. Earlier in the day, I had gone outside for a break and there were flocks and flocks of geese overhead. They numbered in the thousands. Sometimes, when the flocks were right overhead, they would spread their wings and the reflection of the sun off the lake would hit them just right, and they gleamed like burnished metal. Thousands of shining golden vessels seeking their home port... It was unexpectedly beautiful.

Turns out I don't need to work tomorrow. Instead, I will be over at the Rhode Opera House hanging lights for Nunsense. My only comment: I am not surprised at this turn of events. Hopefully I'll get done soon enough to do something fun. Not that I really dislike working at the theatre. I just don't like it quite so much as I used to. *repeats to himself* I will not run lights for Nunsense, I will not run lights for Nunsense, I will not run lights for Nunsense...

(no subject)

Had a nice long chat with my friend Mike out in Oregon. It's been too long. I'm working too much. Woof. Gonna be working too much next week too. But after that, we'll see if I can't get some time off. I intend to drive out and visit Mike. I've never driven that far by myself before, it'll be interesting. But I think it'll be nice. I enjoy driving on the highway, and I'll certainly enjoy meeting a good friend for the first time. Only in the modern world can you be friends with someone you've never met in person. What a surreal concept that would have been just a few decades ago. Change! So much change! We surely live, as the old curse puts it, in 'interesting times'. Well off to bed I think. Maybe I'll even be ready to get to the theatre in the morning. Take care Mike. I worry about you.

A blog

I mentioned this blog a while ago. I really enjoyed reading it, but hadn't looked in a while. Then I found aparticular entry referenced on Thoughtviper's blog. It rocks. Though he is a preacher, his second calling is definately a writer. I can certainly relate to a great anger and pity for those who claim to follow a philosophy of love yet hate all those who are different. I've never seen that anger expressed in a better way than the Real Live Preacher did. If all religious leaders were such caring, intelligent, and most of all, involved, people as he, I might even start going to services again. Of course if I were, for some inexplicable reason, so start going to church again, I would probably go to a service of a different faith every time. I like a little variety, you know? I honestly think that organized religion is just too, for lack of a better word, organized. Can't we all just forget about the rules and just love everybody?
