Mar. 19th, 2003 02:04 amIt was a day at work today. I wish I could find my 'Have a day' button. *smirk* I was really dragging around work for a while,
then the Dwarf arrived and we chated briefly. He mentioned that Stephy, one of the friends I've met through my parents friends, was indeed having a game at her house tonight. (Tangent; I guess it's kinda odd by most people's views to share several friends with one's parents, and to have any number of friends that much older than oneself in general. It's always been normal for me, but then I'm not that normal, am I?) He said she's been reading my journal here and was happy to read that I've found someone who's so special to me. In response, since he never reads my livejournal and hasn't seemed to notice the mail I sent him two weeks ago on this subject *g*, I said she was also very happy for me when she read that I had been meeting some interesting men as well. But it seems he was already aware of that. Well. Good. I was sending him mail 'cause I felt I could write about it more easily than speak about it, but I've been feeling a lot more self confident lately. I decided to just do it. And he's happy for me in that respect too. My parents have a good group of friends. I was feeling much more energetic after that too. For a while anyway.
So, work got done with, and I realized that though I don't have access to my POP3 account down there, I really wanted to get some mail out to Andrea. Well, the Dwarf was working late anyway, so I drove home, composed my missive, and headed back to Illinois again. Or tried to. I ended up getting delayed by a lot of little stuff and was kind of grumpy when I left. I pulled out of the driveway and turned the radio on, letting my mind wander. It didn't take long before settling on Andrea again. Before long, I realized that my life is better than it has ever been and that I'm silly to be getting upset over trifles. I was feeling so much better that I even stopped at Walgreens on the way to Stephy's and bought some nifty little pony-tail bands that are made of a bunch of strands intertwined in Celtic knot fasion. I saw someone wearing one and decided I had to have a few.
Stephy's was nice. She's never really played any tabletop RPG's, so the Dwarf was basically just showing her the basics. It was a pleasant few hours with just the three of us. Honestly, these days the nicest thing about getting together for gaming for me is just getting to see people I care about. I'd be just as happy to spend a lazy while watching movies or somthing. But gaming is kinda nice on occasion, and I imagine I'll keep doing it, when the groups aren't crazy big.
I apologize for whatever errors I've made in there, technical or otherwise. I know there are some. I'm tired. I'm going to bed.
23 days 'till I get to see the most important person in my life in person again. *smile*

Mar. 19th, 2003 11:34 pmI got home from work at about 6. I got on the computer and at 7 Andrea got online. I've been talking to her ever since. Wow. Our conversation took paths that were so... *sigh* I don't know. I laughed, I cried (literally). I miss you dear raccoon. For half an hour yet it'll still be 23 days 'till I get to talk to her in person. Heh. I'll manage I suppose.
