It was a long day at my aunt and uncle's house yesterday, spent mostly playing with my uncle's collection of arcade machines. Video game rambling )

My uncle also has a nifty old juke box that he's loaded with a wide selection of 45's, most of which I'm not interested in. I did enjoy playing with it a bit as I played some pool with my brother and his girlfriend. The music did make me wish that [livejournal.com profile] wooisme was there to dance with me. We've still never had a chance to dance, a situation that would be nice to remedy sometime. It was a long, mostly uneventful, day, and as a result of my mother not noticing what time it was, we finally left about 11 o' clock at night. I got home and exhaustedly collapsed in bed, from which I finally rose at about 8:30 today, muttering at the buzzing alarm clock that had been going off for half an hour.

I talked to my grandparents a bit, telling them a little about Andrea. I am also clear to go use the forge today, which I'm heading out to do after this... I ate too much, I played on the trampoline, I ogled my uncle's nifty stereo setup, and I missed Andrea. There are times I just ache to be with her. Only four more days now...

I drove out to my grandparent's house today and was there for all of ten minutes before recieving a call from my brother, who informed me that he had left stuff he needed for the parade today in the car. No not the pride parade in Chicago, which I would have liked to see if I wan't busy. He's got some parade for his martial arts class. Or something. I really don't kow. But he left his gi and belt in the car, so I had to drive home and return them. It's an hour drive to my grandparen't house one way, so certainly had my share of on the road time today.

But I got my project for Andrea done! With some help that is. My grandfather did a little bit of fine shaping and all of the welding on it. I am so happy with the way it turned out. I'll have to post some pictures here, once I've presented it to my dear one in person. I am deeply indebted to my grandfather for his assistance with this piece which, in light of it's intended recipient, is very important to me. *hugs grandpa* I love watching him work metal. He makes it look so easy...

I, though, am worn out. It seems kinda odd, because it really didn't seem like that much work. The set-up and tear down, which involved carrying the anvil and forge (It's a small propane forge. His coal one isn't much bigger and requires a certain experience and patience in it's user so we were non-traditional...) out of the garage, was probably more work than the actual work on the piece. But the boots I wore hurt my legs, and I'm feeling that pleasent lethargy that comes after a couple of hours of physical work. I'm going to laze about for a while. Maybe I'll go to bed early tonight. Maybe I'll play Chocobo Dungeon 2 with my youngest brother. That seems kinda brainlessly fun...

Four days 'till I'm in Michigan...
