Mar. 25th, 2004 09:32 pmIt's funny some of the things you miss.
My dad listens to the radio. All the time. Often, when I'd get home after school or wherever I'd been, it'd be on loudly in the kitchen with him nowhere around and I'd annoyedly turn it off. Still, it was because of him that I used to listen to WGN radio, every night before falling asleep through nearly all of high school and many other times. My dad doesn't drive anymore due to failing eyesight (diabetes complications) but the WGN radio sticker is still in the back driver's side car window of the blue beast that my parents gave me to start my Michigan term of existence. WGN radio, regardless of what's actually on, reminds without fail of my dad, and so much of the time I've spent with him.
Tonight, as I'm tiredly thinking of going off to bed, I found myself wishing that I had a computer by my bedside so I could network it and listen to the internet live feed of WGN. I can catch it a little bit, sometimes, over on this side of the lake, but I think my alarm clock/radio probably just doesn't have the antenna for it. If memory serves, Steve and Johnny would be coming on in not too long. They're the all night couple, all the way through to 5 or 6 I think. I listened to their entire show often through highschool, laying in bed, reading a book, and not wanting to go to sleep 'cause that would make school get there faster.
*hugs dad and mom* I know at least one of you reads this. I miss you two...
Tired, tired puppy. Off to bed now.
