May. 12th, 2004 09:33 pmEven though I ended up staying for an hour of overtime at work today and had to stop and ship 10 ebay packages at the post office (in Clinton Township since I couldn't make it to the usual one down by Warren), and then had to stop and peruse an antique store I saw on my way to said office, I still managed to completely clean the bedroom floor (and a good part of the rest of the stuff in there) and do no less than 6 loads of laundry (four of them still occupying their respective big white machines in the basement at this moment) today! Yes, one way to look at it is that I've spent over $20 on laundry in the last two days, but I prefer to think that 'I'm on a roll'!
I've been temporarily distracted from the basement by the task of cleaning up all the clothes around here so the cats don't pee on them. I bought two sets of 30 coat hangers yesterday when I started on this and am well into the second set with more stuff still to hang. That's on top of the already mostly full walk in closet we had. My sweetie has a lot of clothes. *grins*
It just feels so good to walk into the bedroom and see it mostly clean. It's almost like a weight lifted off my shoulders. I like having things clean, and it's a little stressful to step over laundry every day and not know where my clothes are. I found lots of my stuff cleaning up; I even have my nice velvet shirts again. I missed having pretty things to wear to cons when I couldn't find them. Especially since my raccoon is always so pretty in her velvets and things.
Andrea and I just watched Real Women Have Curves. It was a really good movie (in retrospect it seems obvious that it was based on a play). The heroine reminded me a little of my sweetie in a few ways. The ending made me think about my dad some more too. *sigh* I want nothing more than to be with my beloved, but I miss my family.
Anyway, today mostly went to cleaning; tomorrow may well be the same way as I try to start on the basement. I want room downstairs so I can clean upstairs better. And I'm trying to do all this before school starts again on Monday. Wish me luck. And if you see me online, feel free to say hello even if I'm set to away. I want to talk to everyone more and I'll try and keep checking in once in a while. I miss all of you back in Illinois/Wisconsin...
