Of cloudless climes and starry skies.
And all who worship evil's might;
Beware her power, Green Lantern eyes."
Am I the only one who occasionally gets Lord Byron and Hal Jordan mixed up? *looks around* Ok, it must be just me....
I'm about to clean off my computer room bookcase in preparation for the first furniture move of the weekend. Somewhere in the nexttwo three days (I have Monday off to help
serinithia move into her apartment), I hope to get the rest of my rearranging done too, not to mention the holes cut in my computer desk. This will make the puppy happy. Wish me luck!
Oh, and I just heard from
wooisme that we will be spending a good chunk of tomorrow down in Chicago hanging out with
lisagems and a friend. Yay! I like visiting Chicago, and we definitely don't see friends enough.
And the last thing that's putting me in a good mood is that my wrist is hurting rather less than it typically does after work. I finally found my wrist brace while cleaning up Thursday night and, after wearing it at work for two days, have been much improved. Beyond that, my manager, when she saw it, asked if my injury was work related. I said that it probably wasn't directly so, as I've had trouble with it off and on for years, but she still told me that I should get her a quote on the nice keyboard I want. I mentioned it once a while ago, mostly jokingly, as a substitute for the flat panel monitor we were talking about upgrading people with and she dismissed it, but I guess she remembered. I also suppose that wearing something indicative of a possible work-caused medical condition makes management stand up and take notice.
On a related note, just after that conversation occurred, my team lead spoke up and said that he thought he might need a large, new monitor as the one he had was making his eyes go bad. My manager flipped him the bird. "I saw that" he said, laughing. "Guess you don't need a new monitor then, do you?" She quipped back.
Then there was today where my team lead commented that myself and our first level tech were both wearing olive drab, and he, dressed in black, felt left out. I pointed out that he still fit in; he's olive shaped, a comment that produced a good laugh from everyone. I very much appreciate working with people who can joke, laugh, and poke fun at each other. It does wonders for promotion of sanity in an envrionment as crazy as ours.

*bounce* And I just found my slide-rules while cleaning off my bookcase. This weekend is shaping up wonderfully!
