Jan. 26th, 2007 10:51 amSince I don't think I've made it quite 'round to mentioning it yet, I'm going to be in Detroit this weekend. My lovely raccoon girl, myself, and a certain black tom cat are all driving out to spend a weekend visiting places like Eastern Market (have Andrea tell you about it some time), Sala Thai (Mmmmm, endrophin rush), Xochimilco's (best Mexican I've ever had) and maybe even an abandoned building that I have some fond memories of. We have a very nice fox and raccoon who will be watching our house for a second time and to whom I'm very indebted. Thank you
serinthia and
todd_riverden! We'll be staying at
wooisme's mother's house while she's out of town at some Red Hat thing or who-knows-what.
I'm looking at camera stuff online and a part of me wishes that I was ready to buy one right now. Someone on Craig's list is selling an EOS-1D. That, though slightly outdated, is Canon's high end professional model with all the bells and whistles. That would be a really nifty thing to have, and for not too much more than I'm seeing the used D20s going for. So, so tempting....
I can't wait to get on the road today. I swapped hours with my team lead so I'm working his 7 to 4 shift and he's working my 8 to 5. Andrea and I will hook up with Posi after he's off work and shoot down through Chicago. Or maybe around Chicago; after all, we'll have rush hour to deal with. It will be a shame to drive through in the dark, but we'll at least have light coming back on Sunday.
Andrea and I both have Monday off, but since Posi doesn't, we'll be home by late evening on Sunday (we hope) and have all of Monday to ourselves to catch up on sleep and enjoy ourselves. Current plan is to investigate one of the lunch buffets that a couple of Mexican restaurant's near us have. I'm happy that we'll have a mostly clean bathroom to come back to on Sunday night too; it's so much nicer taking a shower in a clean room as opposed to a messy one. It somehow makes one feel that much cleaner.
I hope everyone is having a great Friday!
