Apr. 13th, 2007 12:36 pmWhile stuck in traffic during the snowstorm on the way to work earlier this week, I started reading Robertson Davies' The Manticore simply because it was sitting there on the passenger seat. This has made me realize how long it's been since I'ver really read much of anything, fiction wise. I haven't had a lot of time, but that's not a good excuse; I really need to make some.
Anyway, it's not my ususal cup of tea; it's not sci-fi, and though I'm told it has some elements of the fantastic in it, I haven't really found them yet and I'm a little over half way through the book. It tells the story of a wealthy man who, after the suspicious death of his father causes him to begin a spiral into mental breakdown, goes to Zurich for Junigian psycho analysis.
It's the middle book in a series, which I just might read the other two of. It's really nice to be reading again. It takes time away from writing; I've been trying to be motivated to work on a piece I started last week and I usually do my writing in on the way to and from work, but this week I've been reading instead. Maybe it's a fair trade. I just have to strike a balance.

wooisme and posicat, followed by me getting my hair trimmed on Saturday morning. I'm a little freaked out about this, but Andrea had the same done by the same person, and it really does look better without the split ends and the stylist is good about not taking off more than really necessary. And then, the three of us will probably caravan down to the used car lot that Posi uses again and see what may be found there.
But until such happy time as I am no longer chained to my desk by the bonds of capitalism, I have to get back to whatever it is I do around here (there's so much of it that sometimes I forget....).

Any bets on how long it takes after it goes into operation before it gets hacked?
