Jun. 1st, 2007 03:50 pmThe ventilation in the building I work in does not work as it's supposed to. We help desk peons can only guess that during one building reorganization or another, walls were put in the wrong place and there's a thermostat that is out of range of the vents that it triggers. Each and every day, during the portion of the year that's warm enough to merit air conditioning, the Employee Help Desk room cools down in the afternoon, right about three o' clock, and never warms up. My team lead thinks the thermostat may be past the wall to the west in a part of the building that has lots of windows that the sun hits on it's way down in the afternoon and which doesn't directly connect to our room anymore.
Now that I've put it to the test, I've found that I actually can type in my fingerless leather gloves, albeit maybe ten to twenty WPM slower than normally. At least the chill isn't slowing my fingers down; that takes aobut the same speed off, and to boot, my hands are cold!
