I'm working from home today as I await the results of another blood test. Apparently, the hospital that I went to for the ultrasound (being a different one than I usually go to; maybe they don't have an ultrasound or something) either didn't get the whole order for my lab work, or misread it, or spilled coffee on it or something, 'cause my hep screen didn't get done. I'm told that they will 'probably' have prelimary results on it by the end of the today, at which point I will at least have an idea about whether the doctor will let me go to work tomorrow, because my manager has said I need an ok before I come back in the office. I'm left to wonder whether anyone, really, anyone, whether it's hardware vendors, healthcare groups, government, or anyone else, has anything even vaguely resembling organizational efficiency. I'm leaning toward a 'no'.
In the meantime, I'm working from home as best I can on a laptop display and a CRT monitor while listing to the 'Brina cat song. What's the 'Brina cat song? That's the song that our gray cat-like ball of fluff sings as she wanders about the house looking for shiny things. It goes like this.
"I'm a little gray cat!
I'm not a little purple cat.
I'm not a little orange cat.
I'm a little gray cat!"
Don't tell her--if she found out I think she'd be embarrassed--but sometimes I sing along, quiet enough that she doesn't notice.
