I've never been able to meet the Meetup group that moiracoon has been doing stuff with. They are all at faire today and I was excited about seeing them!

But.... I didn't manage to get out of bed until quarter after noon. By the time I finished writing everybody on LJ that I hadn't had time to during the week, and finding and making food, and looking for garb, it's one-thirty now. I feel silly going to faire and not getting there 'till two o'clock and paying full price 'cause I don't have anybody to share the two-for-one ticket with, and only being there for a few hours before having to leave again.

And my suspenders are broken, and the shirt I thought I had hanging in my closet isn't the one I thought I had, and I think that Moira wore the belt I was going to wear, so the only one I can find is her ring belt that I don't like, and I'm worried that I look like an idiot in this combination of things.

So I'm staying home. I'll meet people for dinner. I'm kind of upset with myself, and feeling bad because I really wanted to see people at faire, but at it gives me more motivation to organize things so I don't do this again. I think I'm going to mop the kitchen while I'm home. The floor in there is really getting to me.

Every time I try to mop the floor in the kitchen, it ends in horrible frustration. I don't seem to know how to get the floor clean; it never looks really clean after I'm done. And my mop keeps breaking. I've tried three or four different kinds of mops and they are either awful and don't work for squat, or they're shoddily constructed and break, or both.

How do I find a good mop? I think that would help a lot. Any suggestions? I just broke another one trying to scrub at a stubborn spot and I'm really tired of it.

I thought you were supposed to know about this stuff when you're an adult.
