According to the IRS, the information that failed to post correctly in my tax return has now been resolved. I should allow until the middle of August for it to process, and then another week or two for the check to be issues. I should expect it in about thirty days. I still plan to be entirely unamerican and use it to pay off old debt. I'm sure I'll be hosting flag-burning parties in my backyard before you know it.

Does it seem like, for any given organization, there is a specific time frame that you are told to expect action in? Every time I call the IRS, it's 'within thirty days'. Whenever [livejournal.com profile] serinthia calls the hardware support service for our CD labeler, it's 'by the end of next business day'. And in both cases, the expected response consistently fails to manifest. Ah well; at least it sounds like progress is being made, and my half-hour wait on the phone was worth it. Now if only I'd hear something about my missing tablet PC...

Moira and I went out yesterday to see my dad's latest play, Willy Wonka Junior. I had a pretty good time! Plus, I got to sit next to my brother J and his now-not-girlfriend, who I totally adore the both of! I do think, though, that one of the best parts was when we got to the middle of the 'Cheer Up, Charlie' song, and I leaned over to my sweetie and whispered softly in her ear, 'Chaaaaarliiiiie...come to candy mountain Chaaaaarliiiiie....' Actually, let me rephrase that. One of the best parts was watching her nearly explode trying not to burst into guffaws.

But the play was really neat. The person playing Willy Wonka had a fantastic singing voice that I'm terribly envious of. And the balloons that Uncle Muck did for the chocolate factory set and the squirrels and spiders and stuff were awesome! It had been a long time since I've been in a theatre, so of course, I kept finding myself looking at the lights and curtains and the monitor showing the conductor to the stage, and all the other tech. My dad was telling me about the ginormous black-lights that they rented to make the balloons glow. I wish I'd had a chance to see those up close.

So [livejournal.com profile] custardfairy and [livejournal.com profile] mojojojo are coming to visit! They'll be here today!! *bounces* When I get home even! That will make up for this morning, when I woke up from a rather disturbing dream that I was going to have brain surgery for a tumor in the back part of my grey matter. Eww. I woke up thinking that I was in a hosptial room and that my appointment for a CAT scan was coming up. As it turned out, it was merely fifteen minutes from when I usually leave for work, which is bad, but not nearly on the same level.

I have a picture of [livejournal.com profile] rileybear67 up at my desk at work now to go along with the one of [livejournal.com profile] moiracoon. *giggles* And the one of Kuma, and the one of Sabrina (the cat, just to be clear), and the various other things on my wall. I like to be able to look at the things that make me happy.
