stormdog: (floyd)
If I didn't have the kinds of problems with fruit and vegetable texture that I do, I might try eating vegetarian.

I find that the less 'processed' meat is, the less I seem to like it. As it becomes more uniformly textured, and less, I don't know, meat-like, it become more appealing. (Strangely, shrimp are an exception to this.) I don't care for steak at all; I much prefer a hamburger that I know won't have weird bits of texture or stringiness, or bits of fat. One uniform blob of meat. And when Moiracoon makes pulled pork in the crock pot, it cooks long enough that it all becomes sort of soft and uniform. I like that. Maybe that's why I tend to like seafood; fish and scallops and lobster (well, fake lobster, anyway. I hate dealing with real lobster). It tends to be softer and more uniform in texture.

And if I'm disturbed by really 'meat-like' meat, why am I eating meat anyway?

But I can't deal with the vast majority of fruits and vegetables out there either. I am a lot better about it than when I first met my dear one (I can eat, and even really like spinach and some salads now!), but it's a long road.
