wooisme and I are going to be working our tails off to get ready for the carpet cleaners this Thursday. All the furniture is going to be moving, either to the kitchen or onto the front porch, so that we don't have to pay ten bucks per for the priviledge of having it done for us. I'm thinking that, together with cleaning the furniture off so that we can actually move it, we're going to be occupied right through to Thursday.
The appointment is for between four and seven. I want to try to be there for it if I can to help with anything that needs doing and help with other cleanup too. Once that's all done, since the carpet will be too wet to walk on 'till at least twenty four hours later and the house will probably smell more than a bit weird, we're going to go bowling with
todd_riverden and
serinthia. That's assuming that it's still early enough.
posicat, I'm so sorry things are going to be so packed this week; I'm glad you managed to find a way to get back home reasonably.
Wow; typing slowly enogh for the morse code program to keep up with me is really dragging; I hope I learn this quickly. I have to turn it off at work. That's probably just as well; I wouldn't want to get our of practice at my typing. Plus, I'm torn between spending the drive home working at morse code and going through the 240 slide Powerpoint presentation I downloaded about the technician class license vs booting up my Japanese language program from one of the ISOs I created last night and working on that. I'll have to decide how to split my time somehow.
Going to furry bowling this weekend should be fun; that will be afirst in the Midwest for Andrea and I. In fact I don't think we've been bowling since before we moved. Though I've never been outstanding at it, it can be a lot of fun. I do hope it doesn't hurt my wrist too much. I wonder where my ball is.
My computer room is looking a lot better. I just hung this nifty seventies-modern mirror on the wall in there that Moira pointed out to me at the thrift store. It has these neat patterns of offset gridlines that all come together squarely in the middle and become parts of spiral shapes at the four corners. It seems somehow to match all the tech, plus it makes the room look bigger and reflects light around nicely.
Speaking of light, I tried my best to track down the problem with the overhad chandelier in that room. I took apart the switch on the chain and put it back together, but it seems to be fine. I also have continuity between the plug and the point of the cord where it enters the fixture itself, so the problem has to be inside the actual fixture. I guess I'll have to have the handy-dude look at it once I get things clean up there. But that may just wait until my vacation.
On that note, can't wait 'till it's con time again. *woofs*
Anyway, I guess I'm just saying that if I don't have much of an online presence this week, that's probably why. Busy busy busy!
