(no subject)

Break is over. I did very little other than play board games and some Civilization 4. It was good.

On the advice of uberhill, I'm going to the Unitarian Universalist church in Kenosha for zen meditation tomorrow, and quite likely most Tuesdays. If anyone wants to come with, you'd be welcome to join me. I've gone a couple times with farm_cat and found it really calming. Though I stopped going after she did, I've kept thinking about it, and I think doing more of it will be good for me.

New Year's Eve was spent with my parents and their friends, and my brother and some of his playing the aforementioned Civilization 4. We had a five person game that went to two-thirty in the morning, followed by a three person game (after my brother and co. and I moved to my parents house) that went 'till ten thirty the next day. That was awesome. And yesterday, I played with my parents for a few hours too.

Other than that, life continues much as it has for a while. I don't want to be back at work. But I'm going to see if I can get a few days off next week to clean up the house and have the handyman fix a few things.

(no subject)

Going on my mother's suggestion that I might be hypoglycemic (thanks farm_cat!) and the reading that moiracoon took of my blood sugar when I was feeling fuzzy-headed this past weekend (87 I think), I ate protein at work today. Peanut butter, cheese, and turkey.

Tonight, I feel great. I feel better than great. This is the best I've felt after coming home from work in about as long as I can remember. Usually I'm feeling mentally foggy, or even headachy, and have a snack to feel better. Tonight, I simply feel awesome. If I felt like this all the time, I'd get a hell of a lot more done!

It's funny how much my mom and I are alike. Not only do we share some neurological weirdness, but we seem to share some other physiological quirks too. I will have to tap her for more suggestions on good lunch foods.

But I feel fabulous! Now to catch up on the finances and, if it's not too late after that and a shower, some more Civ 4!
