Jan. 25th, 2009 06:16 pmWhat's the deal? The password I use to log into my work laptop is the same password I've been using there for four years, basically, with just a number at the end that I increment. (I know, crappy security. I don't care. You should see some of the passwords other people at work use.)
I can sit down at the keyboard and whip through it in about a second. Except, now I can't. After four years of it being instinctive, muscle-memory, now I keep mistyping it. I have to sit down and go letter by letter or I keep getting it wrong, and the part I'm getting wrong is not the numeric part that changes. Should that make me nervous? *sighs*
On an unrelated subject, for the first time, I have been watching animè wherein one of the female characters regularly changes her hairstyle. She wears it down, wears it up, wears it in a ponytail or pigtails, sometimes has a hairband, puts it a fancy up-do with trailing bangs when she's in a nice kimono... This is really awesome because it's so novel to me to see that in Japanese animation, and because I am a hopeless hair-gazer.
At the same time, this is the first animè that I've ever seen where I had to keep figuring out who a character was each time I see her because her hair is different. As I've noted before, I think one of the reasons I like animation in general is because it's often so much easier to tell people apart, so this is kind of an interesting experience to find a character I can't do that with easily.
