Feb. 7th, 2009 04:15 pmHey there!
I am looking for some smallish IDE hard drives. Twenty or thirty GB would probably be fine. It's not something that's worth spending money on to me (though a trade could probably be happily arranged), but I know that I have many techy friends who may have old spinning media sitting around that they don't need anymore. If you happen to have anything fitting that description, I'd be happy to take it off your hands. (Actually, I think I have one machine that takes SATA too, but I'm not expecting anyone to have SATA hardware they're not using. Though if you do, I might be willing to buy it from you.)
What I'm doing is I have a number of desktop machines from work. Nothing special; just business-oriented P4 small form factor desktops. I'm going to build some as student machines with XP Pro and a copy of MS Word 2003, then sell, or try to sell, them on Craig's list with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
I run Darik's Boot and Nuke on all hard drives before they leave my house, and on top of that I let the XP install do a full NTFS format on them during setup, so data should be unrecoverable. That said, if you would prefer that these drives never, under any circumstances, go to members of the general public, please do not give them to me.
Thanks!!
(Oh,
foreignlegion; I will have a PIII laptop for you soonish. Maybe tomorrow.)

The best line? Picard: "Is there any nudity in it? Any nudi-- Oh."
I really have no recollection at all of what episode that was taken from. I bet someone can tell me though.
