stormdog: (Tawas dog)
Speaking of dreams...

I very rarely remember any of mine. It's too bad; the ones that I do, which tend to be years and years old at this point, are wonderfully bizarre and surreal. Like the one about there being at a military funeral happening at the theatre I volunteered at and I was sitting in the ice cream shop in the side aisle of the auditorium eating ice cream with a spaghetti server. Or where there was an entire, gigantic biodome-like area attached to one side of the theatre. (I used to dream about that theatre a lot.)

I don't remember much from last night either, but sitting down at the computer and looking at my theremin makes me quite certain that I dreamed of playing one. That's kind of neat.

Mechanic Juan should be coming by today to replace the bearing on [livejournal.com profile] moiracoon's car. As we noted last week, the wheel wobbles loosely on the bearing, to the point that it has about an inch of play either way with fully tightened lug nuts. This is Not Good. Good thing the Neon has been behaving so she could take that.

In the meantime, I'm going to continue tidying up. I have the computer room looking quite presentable, and will move on to further work on the bedroom (already rather better) and the downstairs. For her part, Moira is working on moving all of her awesome beading, jewelery, and craft materials into the library which she will use as her workshop. I can then reclaim the dining room table for having people over and playing games and what not. That's kind of exciting.

I spent the whole ride home with [livejournal.com profile] moiracoon from The Dunes¹ picking at things in Star Trek. Mainly weird science, but some of the other stuff in it too.

That's how you can tell I liked the movie. I love picking apart movies (and other media) that I like. If it didn't make an impression on me, it wouldn't be worth in depth analysis. And wow, were there a lot of things that stretched my suspension of disbelief. But it was a really fun movie, and I think it's one I'd like to own on video.

Thanks to my wonderful raccoon for accompanying her pup to a date night at the movies! *bounces*

¹A nifty old theatre in Zion that dates from 1946; originally a single screen house, it was triplexed at some point in its history. It shows first run movies at discount prices and just has a neat, old-theatre atmosphere to me
