Due, I assume, to my enrollment in We Energies "Energy For Tomorrow" program (wherein my rate paid for each kilowatt-hour is subject to a surcharge, and We Energies ensures that at least that amount of power is generated from renewable resources), I recieved a post card advertising a tour at the Blue Sky Green Field Wind Energy Center. (That's a mouthful!)

Regrettably, I can't get there from work tomorrow before the tours end at seven o' clock. It's in Malone, a two and a half hour drive from here. But I thought I'd post the link in case anyone else is interested. It says no reservations are required, and I have a feeling that they'll give a tour to anyone who shows up, going by the document. Which, by the way, is accessible here.

It's really too bad I can't make it; I'd love to get some close-up pictures of the turbines! I'm pretty sure I drove by it on the way home from the Keweenau peninsula last Spring, and thought it was pretty neat.

It looks like I'll be in Rochelle this weekend with my dad and grandfather, and possibly my doggie, to see trains, and then there's a family get together the next day. I think. I'll have to confirm which day that is. I'm looking forward to getting out there again. And the weekend after that, it looks like I'm going road tripping with my brothers. Yay!

For now, must get through another day at work. And deposit my check at lunch. I was surprised to learn over the weekend that money was not put in my account on the 15th. Instead, because I just changed my direct deposit to a new bank, I had a live check in the mail. Which I was not aware of until I found that I had next-to-no money. Oops. In other excitement, I plan to buy kitty litter today (I actually remembered the refillable bucket!) and go to the gym after work, for the first time in several weeks.

This is wonderful.

Looks like my team lead and my raccoon-girl are both sick. Could I be far behind? Find out next time!

I have a second phone interview tomorrow for an open position within my company. It would be at a different location. It's farther away, but I could take more highways. I'm trying to figure out how long it's actually going to take me to get there.

Right now, I live in Kenosha and work in Libertyville. Mapquest says it takes 42 minutes each way to get to work and back; it actually takes an hour because of traffic. Mapquest says the other office would take me an hour and seven minutes; I wonder how accurate that is. Can anyone who knows the area offer advice?

The other office is near the intersection of 90 and 171. Mapquest has me taking 94 to 294 to 90 to 171. As I said, it guesses an hour and seven minute. How awful are those roads during travel times? Is this going to be closer to a two hour one way trip? If so, even if it pays a lot better...I just don't think I can do it. If the actual transit time was just a touch over an hour, I could manage that. That's what I have now.
