Ok, here's a thought.

I have a bunch of vacation time left. I'm trying to decide where to spend it.

I'm probably going to take a few long weekends and go check out some hostels. But it would be fun to meet up with people too while I'm out places.

Is anybody on my friends' list interested in having a dog come visit, maybe show him around somewhere new or that he doesn't know very well or hasn't been in a while? Available crash space, or proximity of a hostel (I'll check on that if you have an offer of a dinner meetup or sight-seeing tour) would make this even more likely. (Van, Florida is a little farther than I trust my car to go right now. Sorry; I wish it wasn't so!)

I have ninety-two hours of vacation time to use this year, and that's after the time off for MFF and Windycon in November. I'm not allowed to carry any of it over. So I wanna see stuffs and peoples!

--------

EDIT: Yay! Two offers! 13 hours might be pushing the car a little bit; I don't know. Maybe I should get it checked out or something first. And then another part of me thinks that if I'm willing to drive 13, how different would twenty-one to Florida, or somewhere else far-distant, be? It's not like either one is in tow range. *shrugs*

Times like this, I do really miss my Aveo.

Ok, this is kind of weird.

But I think that eating meat may be making my teeth hurt.

For a while, I've noticed that sometimes my teeth and mouth all feel kind of weird, like I have food stuck between my teeth and it's pushing them a little out of place; you know that feeling? I don't really know how to describe it. Like my teeth and jaw are a little bit sore, but not sore. Then it goes away, usually within the same day, or overnight.

I'd been wondering if it had to do with the way I think I grind my teeth in my sleep, or sometimes find myself rhythmically tapping my teeth together on the way home (I don't know why I do that. I've tried to stop. It's just something I do. And only on the way home. Maybe work leaves me kind of stressed and that makes me do things unconsciously. But anyway....)

But a while ago, it occurred to me that it had happened a couple times after eating something that was primarily meat, or had a lot of meat in it. Today, there were some free roast beef sandwiches in the break room. Sure enough, after eating a couple of them today, there's that weird jaw and teeth discomfort, starting later on the trip home.

I've never heard of anything like that. Does it make any sense? I've never really liked lots of meat anyway (I don't like steak at all!), so it's no big deal to avoid eating much of it, but if that's really the cause, it's just so weird!

Also, I can no longer log in to my laptop without an external keyboard. Ctrl-alt-del does not register at the login screen on the onboard keyboard. I have confirmed (both in the BIOS on the way home today and in Windows after logging in with a USB keybaord) that all three keys are working just fine. What gives?
