Sep. 17th, 2009 01:54 pmI just looked out our bedroom window and saw that our neighbors have put up one of those neat backyard gazebos with a metal frame, a canvas top, and mesh fabric walls that you can tie open, or leave closed so the bugs don't bite.
They have a nice table and some nice wooden chairs around it, and a hurricane lantern sitting on top of it. Some more lighting hangs from the supports under the roof.
My first thought is how completely awesome it would be to play D&D out there some Summer or Fall night.

I'm looking at visiting both St. Louis and Washington DC coming up! *squees* So excited! I'm looking at Greyhound to get out to DC; ordering three weeks in advance, I can get round trip tickets for $120. One of my contacts on Flickr, Katherine of Chicago, has been posting a bunch of pics from the DC transit system lately, and it sounds like mass transit is pretty good over there.
I was thinking about Megabus for St. Louis, but since
faeriecat, who is kindly offering me crash space for a couple days, is a couple hours outside the city, it's probably going to be by car. Tenative plans are a couple days at her place, and a couple days in St. Louis at a hostel.

I was rather anxious today about our VP of Sales having a problem with his laptop (which I rebuilt for him yesterday) and was kind of stressing about that earlier today. Fortunately, it turned out to be no big thing. He is, to say the least, not technically savvy, and his computer was trying to boot from the optical drive and failing. So yay.
moiracoon made some really garlicy pasta for lunch that was nummy nummy! And she and I are going to go mini-golfing tonight! *bounces* I hope pictures will be forthcoming, if I have any of her she likes.
Speaking of pictures though, Moira and I stopped in to Goodwill yesterday. We found a display in the entrance foyer that, I don't quite know how to describe. Two skeletons on trapezes in hot pink and fuchsia leotards and tutus.
Even better; this one seems to be finding the experience more than a little...exciting.
There was a heck of a long telephoto zoom lens in the glass case; 100-250 millimeter. They wanted seventy-five for it, and if I'd had any idea whether it was possible to get it onto my camera, I might have bought it.
