Sep. 30th, 2009 10:26 amIt's so cold these days! In Chicago the last couple days, the wind has been pretty impressive too. I'm a little nervous about what walking along the river to work is going to be like in the dead of winter. Not to mention photo-sightseeing in DC next month. But the coat No-LJ-James gave me is surprisingly warm. Even without the liner, it got to be a little too warm on the way back to the train station yesterday. Plus, I got a shooter's mitten at the American Science and Surplus tent sale. It's a mitten that has not just a separate pocket for your thumb, but one for your forefinger. For shooting a gun, I assume, but I tried it out with my camera and it works gret! It's military issue and olive-drab, but we can't all be fashion plates.
Every day I work at home, Sabrina (the cat, not the bear) sits in the same spot in my office. About five feet away from me, right where she can see me and the door of the room. It's very cute. And it's nice to know that I can just reach my hand down and wiggle my fingers and I'll have a kitty over by me to pet for a little bit of relaxing.
Hey two different pictures of mine were invited to two different groups on Flickr with similar themes: my picture of my feet in my new Tevas is now a member of Pés.Feet.Pies.Piedi.Füße.Voeten.ноги.Láb, and my picture of my brother playing with a fountain is in
Mãos, manos, hands, mains, mani. Something about having two different groups run by different people, but with the same basic theme and names in such a similar style want to add pictures of mine to them at the same time was kind of neat. And I'm tickled by the thought that pictures of mine are in explicitly international groups. *bounces*
Here's the fountain picture; I kind of like this one. I think the shapes and curves of the finger and hand, and the definition of the muscles under tension, is neat.
