(no subject)

After getting to Ogilvie Station this morning, I walked over to Union to see about getting tickets and checking my bag. Happily, bag check was already open, so I left my duffel with them (after removing a book and a snack) and headed over to work. I got to walk through the underground space where the trains wait, and that was neat.

I realized on the Metra down to Chicago that I forgot my new 8GB memory card. Hopefully that will be the one item I left behind and I'll have everything else I need. In the meantime, I have to figure out where to get a CF card or two. If I was in Kenosha, I'd run out to Big!Lots. I'm not sure what's around downtown Chicago that wouldn't charge an arm and a leg. Though for that matter, anywhere I buy one that's not online will be pricy. Oh well. If that's all I'm missing, I'll be doing well.

My dad, barton_fender and my godfather, who's visiting from Minneapolis, picked me up at five this morning and dropped me off at the station in Kenosha. That was nice of them! And it was good to see them before leaving too. I also woke the raccoon up to say sleepy goodbyes. She may be unhappy with me later; I realized as I was writing this that I never resolved the problem with the Neon. It wouldn't start last time I tried to use it; the battery was mostly drained by something. It's going to need a jump if it needs to move.

I'm still having nervousness about losing my luggage or missing things, but other than that I'm excited and ready to get through my day and get on the train. Wish me luck!

Hey, wait a minute! If I have Moira mail me that card via Priority Mail, I bet it would get there Monday or Tuesday! Now there's a thought....

I got to the end of disc 1 on Final Fantasy IX last night. Man am I falling asleep!
