Feb. 6th, 2010 09:33 amIt felt so weird to be told that my thousands and thousands of Magic cards, all that I have left after years spent buying, playing, and obsessively organizing, are worth about $25. It's about what I expected, but it's still weird. A couple people are going to look at them next week and make offers and I'll take the higher one. Then, I'll most likely use the proceeds to buy a Cutthroat Caverns expansion. It'll give me something to remember Magic by.

farm_cat, akreaveter, Alex, and someone I didn't know who had never played one of the Mayfair railroad games. I think he had a good time, even though I prefer to use one of the smaller, less complicated ones as a starter in this line. I also looked at Martian Rails and Australian Rails on the shelf.
Oh, I also got to play a full game of Eurorails with Moira Thursday night, which she managed to win. Yay! It's nice to be playing so many games lately, and even finding other people who want to play them!
I'm having the Neon's front end aligned today at 2. With any luck, I will then have a reasonably functional car that's highway capable. That's assuming that they don't find any other front end problems. The steering is still pretty sloppy on ice, and I'm hoping that's just because the wheels have a really nasty toe-out when I'm going straight.
The vast majority of my cards have disappeared. That pleases me. I have found that my Jyhad cards are worth about the cardboard they're printed on, so I'm going to stick them back in the basement. I may actually play that again some time. Highlander and Star Wars are going tonekouken. The rest may just go on a convention freebie table or something. And we move on to more cruft....

I have three 1000baseTX NICs. I have a bunch of SCSI controllers, some of which are probably RAID capable. I also have a couple of USB cards, and what I think is a Firewire card. Also some old video cards (like 32MB vintage). If you'd like any of them, please let me know ASAP. Otherwise they're going on Freecycle.
