akreaveter take a couple of pictures of me with the couple of guitars I have here.
Dual Wielding Axes

They're both classical acoustics. The one on the left belongs to my parents. It's a Tres Pinos model 101 that my mother bought in Mexico before I was born. The one on the right is a Hohner Contessa model HG-15 that I scored at a Goodwill for about $30 or $40 a few years back.
My mother has a really good ear. She tried all the guitars in the little store in Guadalajara and of course ended up with the most expensive one in the shop. It's really neat to compare them to each other. Even with a crack on the face and a split at the bottom of the body, the Tres Pinos sounds so much deeper and richer. I'm happy to have found the Contessa at the Goodwill; it's certainly playable to my untrained ear and you can't beat the price, but it can't help but sound a little tinny in comparison.
One more that shows off the beautiful glowing finish on the Tres Pinos ( behind the cut. )
My hair looks a little flat and unruly; it's really hot up here!
