This machine kills fascists
Jul. 9th, 2010 01:02 pmSo I was Googling Woody Guthrie and doing a little bit of reading about him. His guitar had a sticker on it reading "This machine kills fascists". I find myself kind of fascinated by that. I'd really like to know where that phrase comes from. It seems odd to call a guitar a 'machine', so I'm thinking that he borrowed the phrase from another source, but nothing on the internet seems to give any thought to the matter. It's something that would be fun to research if I could figure out how.
It also kind of makes me want to be a photojournalist and put a sticker on my camera like the one this guy did:

I wish I still had my Dymo labeler that made the old-school labels with raised lettering like that. If anybody knows where to get one, please let me know!
I hope I can has weekend soon.
(Some pictures of Guthrie with the sticker can be found by Googling something like Woody Guthrie kills fascists in an image search.)
