So, so much to catch up on.

Lunch was fun today. Coworker G took me out for Indian buffet again and we were talking about how thing are going for each of us. He told me some fairly personal stuff about his life, and I responded by coming out of the closet about being poly; the first time I've been willing to mix personal stuff and work to that degree. Unexpectedly, he said he has some friends who are Pagan who have the same kind of relationship. Well how about that? Not what I was expecting, and certainly a pleasant surprise. Though there are a few off-putting things things in my memory that he's said or done, he's really a pretty good guy.

So, what pictures to post first? The rest of Cedarburg and Port Washington with Posi? The state fair with Moira? The Badger? Lansing? Detroit? I think I'll start with the fair and move on from there.

I know I already wrote a little bit about the fair a couple entries ago, but I was waiting to say much until Moira had had a chance to share her announcement about her jewelery first. Now that she has, I'll go into more detail.

Moira and I went to the Wisconsin state fair on Friday the 6th and had a thoroughly wonderful time! I love the brightly lit food vendors, the spinning and swinging rides, the crowds of people, the live music, all of it is so great! We bought all sorts of silly food. I had beignets for the first time (I've wanted to try them, having no real idea what they were, since playing the first Gabriel Knight game as a pup), and we bought cheese on a stick (a blob of cheese fried inside sour dough with a rather ineffective stick embedded within the morass). We drank, between the two of us, five glasses of flavored milk (at a quarter a pop!) from a booth subsidized by the Herb Kohl political campaign. The root beer flavored milk was great; like a root beer float!

We saw sheep and horses and cows. The Clydesdales have such beautiful hooves. I wished I could remember more about the horses that were at my grandparents' farm when I was growing up. I love seeing all the farm animals at fairs. The pig hall was already closed, or I would have taken pictures for my grandfather, a long-time pig fan. (He knows the best pig jokes ever.)

The best part of the evening though was seeing how happy Moira was at having won 2nd place with her earrings and 3rd place with her necklace in the art exhibit. They are really beautiful pieces and I'm glad they were recognized as such! And seeing how happy it made my sweetie to have won those prizes really made my night.

I'm definitely going to enter some of my photos in the judging next year. The first place winners were notably better than my stuff. But I do think I have a chance at winning lower prizes with some of my pictures. I just need to get organized and do it. I could even start working on matting some soon. I'll have to learn how to do that decently.

Finally, after hours of losing ourselves in the otherworldliness, we made our way back to Racine where I spent the night before driving to Manitowoc in the morning.

I got some wonderful pictures which I'll be working on tonight. Here's one of them.
