Oct. 16th, 2012 12:03 pmI was snared by an email.
I got a note that Michelle Obama is going to be in Racine on Friday and that I could get tickets at the local Obama for America office. I've never seen someone directly affiliated with a national campaign speak in person before, and I thought it would be a neat, novel experience.
On my lunch break, I drove out to get a ticket and ended up volunteering (under a pretty high-pressure request) to do some knocking on doors on Thursday evening to get people to vote.
I'm a bit nervous about that as I've never done anything like it before. I don't have enough personal knowledge of some aspects of government to discuss them deeply and intelligently. But I suppose I can talk about my objections to Romney on the grounds of the Republican party's social conservatism. Supposedly they'll have someone to do the walking with me so I can kind of see how to do it.
