Nov. 18th, 2013 10:29 amIt's been an interesting morning so far. The wind today was really something. According to the nearest station reporting to Weather Underground, the wind was west by northwest around 30 miles per hour, gusting to 60 or so. My commute is northwest.
While I was in the post office mailing Ebay stuff, my bike fell over and the stays for the cargo rack bent. It seems to be a minor issue, fortunately. When I got to school, I found I'd left the keys for the lock at home, so I stashed it in the basement/steam tunnels again.
Hey, I think I forgot to mention this. On the way to school last week, one of the two bungee cords I kept wrapped up on my cargo rack fell off. I'd found it on the side of the road and appropriated it. I don't know if it broke, or just came loose. Something tangled up in my gears and I had to stop. When I looked I found half of the cord wrapped up in the sprockets and the plastic hook caught on the spokes in a way that wouldn't come off. I ended up sawing through it with the edge of a key. The life of a bike commuter.
I'm going to try to take off school on Wednesday and Thursday so I can head down to the conference. There are things as early as Thursday morning that I'm interested in attending, and I think professors will be willing to accommodate me.
I need to write about the wonderful stuff that people made happen for my birthday this weekend! Until I do, thank you. You made me really happy!
