So, I mentioned having bought new gloves. Today's test run with them was successful enough that I've decided to cut the plastic cord holding them to the backing and remove the option of return. They are now all mine. Muhahahaha!

It was 16 degrees Fahrenheit (-8.8 Celsius) this morning when I got on my bike. The ride was relatively pleasant, and my left hand, in the mitt, was quite warm the whole ride. My thumb got a little chilly at one point, but warmed up. My other hand, in my older glove, was cold. These aren't as ridiculously warm as the $170 pair, but I think those might actually be *too* warm for the majority of the time. These are a winner!

Here I am, dressed for the ride and staring with pugilistic demeanor into the very face of winter!

I've had the same style of facial hair for years now and I wanted to try something new. I have mixed feelings about this, but in the end I decided I didn't like it enough to keep.

With my grades for the Fall semester posted, I can say that I've made three As and an A-. I wasn't sure if I'd have an A or a B in Map Use and Analysis, so I'm pleased. When I came back to school in the Fall of 2011, my GPA was 2.5. After five semesters of As, it's up to 3.5. Even at this rate, I may not make it up to the 3.7 required for magna cum laude honors by the end of my career here. This semester only got me another .043 points higher. But considering where I started, I'm pretty pleased with my progress.

And another set of As means another round of celebratory all you can eat sushi! I'll let you all know when that's going to happen in case you're interested in celebrating with me.
