Feb. 3rd, 2014 06:44 pmIt's kind of a pain to carry around all my bike gear during the day at school. But if I leave my mittens, face mask, helmet, and jacket out in my panniers on the bike, it'll all be ridiculously cold when I put it on and it won't do a very good job of keeping me warm on the way home.
I had a really nice time this past weekend. I'll write more about it later, but seems that I have new potential juggling and unicycling partners. Yay! I'm also kind of tired of living in two-and-a-half places, but that isn't something I can really change in the near future. Boo.
I just had my first class, Intro to Aracheology. It's kind of funny being there after having already participated in a dig this past summer. I'm in class with a
friend who, as we decided in conversation after class, I've known for about 15 years now, so that's pretty cool. I think I'll have a good time there. I like Dr. Sasso, and I know what to expect from him in terms of teaching style and classwork.
I'm having a strange sensation in my ears. There's an intermittent feeling of pressure inside them, as though I'm having some kind of congestion. It's been happening infrequently for a few days, but it's happening more frequently today and is accompanied by minor dizziness. All else seems well, so I don't think I'm sick or anything. My body is just not happy lately.
------
These are going to be long days. Good ones I think, though. There's going to be quite a lot of reading.
I helped a woman find a number of immigration documents related to a family member, and chatted with a second person who was researching Racine Methodist Church history for a while. A third researcher recognized me when I got to the archives. He'd seen me arrive by bicycle this morning and commented that I made him feel bad for not riding in, especially since he has snow tires and I don't!
I think I may end up helping some of the people in my history class use the archives. I know them better than the professor, who didn't realize there was more there than campus documents.
