Health care, sleepy.....zzzzz
Mar. 10th, 2014 10:44 pmI'm having a really hard time staying awake to finish my reading. Plus I have to be at school at 8 in the morning tomorrow for a meeting about Chiapas. I think I'm going to get to bed, and finish up tomorrow after the meeting and before classes.
I'm also going to use that time to call a couple places to inquire about health care options for me. I have a few things that I think need looking at, and despite our governor turning down federal funds to enable people like me to get insurance, there do seem to be some options out there.
One of those things is knee problems that are persisting. I've been riding differently following recommendations of the family friend who does chronic injury and sports massage, and it seems better. Most of the time. But I still often have pain and that 'something-not-right' sensation when going up and down stairs. Maybe I'll start taking the elevator more at school. I also suspect that not having 'real' insurance means that any access I might have to medical professionals who deal with that kind of thing (sports/activity medicine) will be pretty limited, even if I do find a source of health care.
Yes, it was particularly notable today. I'm starting to be a little worried about how this might affect my time in Chiapas.
I've realized that I have three mid terms scheduled during the time I'm gone, so I emailed professors to ask about resolving those conflicts. I'll be taking one early on Wednesday next week instead of Thursday.
Of course, now, I'm in a state of mild anxiety about upcoming exams that might get pushed forward when I'm already a little worried about missing classes and trying to get everything ready for the trip. Whee!
