Traveling as a lone female

I love this cartoon about being a woman traveling by yourself. It also sums up the kinds of things I want to say about traveling when I talk to people about how great Couchsurfing and things like that are. Especially with women, who often talk about the dangers of that kind of travel. But I don't feel like I can say much in response to a woman expressing fear of the danger of traveling that doesn't come from a position of cis-male privilege.

But this is from a female perspective and it makes me happy. I'd love for women I know to tell me what they think of this.

Drafts Done, Time for Brownies!

Draft versions of all my term projects are done. *SQUEES*

That means no more school stuff this evening at least. Celebratory brownies (from a Ghirardelli mix, and with added cocoa powder!) are in the oven!

I forgot to add the egg at first, 'cause I have so little experience with cooking type stuff. I was like, this is really not going to pour into a pan very well, until my brother pointed out I was missing something....

I feel like my anthro theory paper is not the greatest. But this subject matter is slippery and sometimes confusing. It's kind of a new experience for me, to feel this way about a course. I have until Thursday next week to get the final version turned in; I'll likely be going over it a few more times.

And soon I will have a life back!

The hazards of finally deciding to get rid of a bunch of one's old hardware. I had a use for a bar code scanner for the first time in I don't know how many years. I looked for my Que Cats and my other handheld scanner, but I think I gave all of them away. Oh well; I'm still happier with less clutter and more living space.
