Jun. 5th, 2014 09:23 pmI had a great time visiting
serinthia and her partner this evening. We played a game of Dominion, which I haven't done in forever. Even better, I ended the game by buying out a third pile of cards, confident that I was ahead. I was totally wrong and lost to Serin. It was great!
I fit Dominion and an expansion into my panniers, and took my bike over. I got a little turned around the first time, but I made the 3 mile trip home in 16 minutes. That's not much more time door to door than I'd have in the car I think, and the ride home was a fun stretch of mostly downhill at about 18 to 20 miles an hour. Being used to 8 mile rides to school, it's a nice easy trip; I think I'll plan to do that every time I go over there. All together, I totaled 24 miles today, which is making me feel like I can definitely do the 70ish mile Illinois and Michigan Canal trail this summer.
Serin made a gift to me of a bottle of Blair's Original Death sauce! I'd never had that one, so I used some on the pizza she made for us. It's a little vinegary, but I do like the taste. And the heat is a great level for when I want something hot enough to get my endorphin going, but not so hot that I can't keep applying significant amounts through the course of a meal. I think I'm going to use this up quickly, but it will make me happy!

On Tuesday, I'd done another five days of biking, so I could have ordered volume 31 of Oh My Goddess. But I didn't. I'm finding myself a little bit disappointed with the story, and even with the art, in these later volumes. The style Belldandy and the other goddesses are drawn in has become kind of child-like, which I don't care for. I'm sure I'll pick them up eventually because I am a completest, and it sounds like the series is likely to end somewhere in the 40s. But for the moment, I've held off. I think instead I might buy something else, or even save up my 'credit' for a few weeks and make a larger purchase.
