Time for a New Tire

Yesterday, as I looked over my bike and thought about a longer ride out to a nearby state park today, I realized it was finally time to replace my back tire.

I haven't been keeping the best records lately, but I think I must have close to 4000 miles on it.

Telepresence Has its Limits

My dad called me on Skype from his phone with a bunch of people around for my brother's birthday. But the connection wasn't very good; video was freezing and audio was breaking up sometimes. I got to be part of singing happy birthday, but it wasn't really possible to be telepresent and participate in the conversation around the table. I feel far away and lonely in a way that I haven't experienced here yet.

I had a good day out. I took a twenty mile ride along Genessee Street and then along the trail through Old Erie Canal Park. It's six miles to the trailhead, and then the trail goes for thirty six miles, ending near the town of Rome. One of these days I might ride the whole thing. If school allows me to get away for a full day of riding.

This is a pair I bought a couple weeks ago, just before moving. I love the embroidery and beads down the seam! I've worn them a few times without comment, but I'm still not sure how the look comes across.

Weirdness in the Parking Lot

Well. Someone is in the parking lot yelling very loudly, with a significant amount of profanity, about the cardboard having disappeared from in front of our garbage cans. He's interspersing that with telling whoever he's yelling at (I think it's another tenant) that he knows it's not her fault. He's been at it for several minutes now.

Remind me not to move any cardboard....
