Ask Me Anything

I used to semi-regularly see people posting ask-me-anythings on Livejournal. Just an offer to answer any question asked honestly, with the caveat that the answerer may choose to respond either privately, or with a note that the answer would be too personal to provide or violate the poster's or someone else's privacy.

I don't think I ever did that, but something similar a Facebook friend posted made me think of those and how interesting they could be. It might also be a way to foster more interaction here in a venue I like. (Though I think I'll do this on Facebook too.)

I'm spending today working on school tasks. I have an outline and progress report on a term paper to do on top of all the regular weekly reading and work I haven't accomplished yet. I'll be mostly sitting in front of a computer today, but the occasional break to respond would be fun. So go ahead and ask me anything. I promise to respond either honestly, or with a brief explanation of why I choose not to answer. But really, there's not a whole lot I'm that private about. (Though I'll admit that I have just a twinge of nervousness as I go ahead and post this. It is a slightly broader and more direct openness than I'm used to.)

Bike Lights! And Chocolate....

I bought a new Monkeylectric light for my bike since they were on deep discount on Woot again. I have one on each wheel of Perseverence, my commuter, now. Yes, my bike is even dorkier-looking than it was already. But the tech, man...the tech! And in my defense, several trick-or-treaters on my way to the drug store (I needed alcohol to clean the mounting surface) called out appreciative things as I rode by them.

Speaking of the drug store, there were no Cadbury Screme Eggs at the Price-Rite near me. The person behind the counter had kind of forgotten they existed. My dad, when I talked to him earlier, said he hasn't seen any either, which made me worry that they've been discontinued. That would awful! I'd only have one more to get me to Easter! But I looked them up online and they seem to still be in production. I may call around the drug stores near me tomorrow and see where I might get my next fix....

I've gotten a lot of work done today. There's a lot more to do yet, but this has been a positive day, and I'm feeling pretty good. It's a nice feeling; hopefully there'll be more of that to come.
