Wanna Play a Game?
Dec. 28th, 2015 11:09 pmI'm not likely to say too much here in the near-term. I still have a paper due on the 30th that I'm finishing up, and during my irresponsible time, I've been enjoying time with my partner and family and even feeling a little bit relaxed.
However, I want to invite people to play a game I just bought with me. It's playable on Skype (or by phone for that matter) and would even get me to talk to people in real-time more often because I like it that much.
It's called Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. You can see some videos about it on the internet, but to summarize: one person, who owns a copy of the game, is defusing a virtual bomb on zir computer. This involves interacting with various puzzle-like things. However, the defuser doesn't know what to do with the puzzles without the help of an expert or experts. As the expert, you read through the game manual (available freely online), whie the defuser tells you what zie sees. The expert walks through defuser through properly solving all the puzzles.
If this sounds like fun, and you want to play with me, by all means let me know! You can get the manual and play without a purchase, and if you like it enough, I think the game costs 15 bucks if you want to try being the defuser.
This video gives you a sense of what it's like for people totally new to the game. That said, there's a whole different level of enjoyment that comes from getting faster and more consistent and disarming really challenging bombs.
