(no subject)
Nov. 29th, 2006 01:13 pmI use Thunderbird. It has really wonderfully granular and adaptable mail filtering rules. However, I keep encountering a problem with it. When trying to create a single rule that has multiple criteria, only the first one ever seems to work. For instance, I can create a rule that says 'any email that has foo in the subject line should be moved to folder x' and 'any email that has bar in the to line should be moved to folder x', but the second condition never seems to be checked for. Only email with foo in the subject line gets moved. I can take the exact same criteria and move it to a new rule all by itself and run it and it works just fine.
Anyone else have this problem? Do you know how to resolve it? It's getting very frustrating to have upwards of thirty or forty rules when so many of them could be more logically combined into a single rule with multiple criteria.
I dug up my slide rule while I was cleaning up a little bit last night. I should learn to use it a little more proficiently. I want to learn more math in general; It was tough for me to find a teacher who fit my learning style in high school and college and I really didn't do all that well at it, unfortunately. I wish I had.
