Since weather has prevented
wooisme and my trip to Michigan this weekend, I am going to take the opportunity to work on a task that I've been trying to make time for for three weeks now.
So, to everyone who has an email account on my server (all two of you) and anyone else who may need to know (Moiracoon), my server is going down for rebuild shortly. During that time, anything within stormdog.fdns.net and velvetvineyard.fdns.net (that means your Ebay pictures sweetie) will be unavailable, and any email to a stormdog.fdns.net address is going to be stuck in limbo until either my server comes back up (hopefully) or the in-tar-web (or at least the SMTP servers therein) gets tired of waiting for my ass to get my server up and running and throws them in the bit-bucket (hopefully not).
With luck, I'll be back up late tonight after swapping my SCSI drives to the new, hardware RAID capable controller, wiping them and configuring them in a new partition, adding 256MB of RIMM memory, removing the old IDE drive that I currently have Windows booting from, installing 2003 Enterprise server on the RAID partition, reinstalling Apache and Mercury, repopulating the server with data from my external Sata drive that I backed it all up to, and reconfiguring the servers. Somewhere in there I'm sure I'll have two or three unexpected steps and problems, but it's no fun without that, right?
Wish me luck; I'll need it!
Posi, Andrea and I would be interested in getting together on Saturday; would you still like to have us over?
*edit*
Crap; I left that RAMBUS memory at Posi's place along with my spoils from our trip to Big!Lots. Maybe I can pick them up tomorrow...?
