What do I want to get done tomorrow?
That's probably enough for one evening. With luck, I'll even get through it all.
After reading some advice from both friends and people on the local UE forum, I spend a while reading FAQs and review of various digital SLRs. At this poing, I'm leaning very strongly toward picking up a used Canon D20. I see a number of them on Ebay, but I'm going to call around to local camera shops and see what I can find there, what kind of warranty I can get, and how pricing compares. I know it'll be a bit more expensive, but I'm a little bit more confident dealing with a local merchant for something that will be fairly expensive like that.
Oh, one more thing to do tomorrow; I'll have to ask my brother if he can house sit for us this weekend. Andrea and I are going out to Michigan to visit a few people and places.
posicat is coming along with us. I've already run the idea of taking a side trip to Michigan Central Station by him and he and his friend that we're meeting out there sound amenable. Whether my lovely mate is ok with that idea is another story, since I haven't mentioned it to her yet. *grins* I can check with my brother when I stop at my parents' house after work to borrow the CD I need from them.
I've traded hours with my team lead for Friday: he's going to work my eight to five shift, and I'm going to do his seven to four shift. That way, we can get on the road a little bit earlier, and he gets a little longer to sleep in after his 'dinner date'. I forgot to mention that to my mate tonight too. What do you think sweetie? Does that sound good?
And finally, god/dess bless the fine people of the Mozilla foundation for building in as-you-type spell checking into the latest version of Firefox. I can't begin to say how wonderful it is to not have to deal with the kludgy interface that Livejournal has for its spell checker.
Good night all!
- The bathroom really needs a mid-level cleaning.
- I want to pop my Plextor drive back into my primary computer to try copying a certain disc that the drives I have in there won't read correctly. (I assumed when I bought it that the LG DVD burner would read sub-channel data, so I took out my Plextor CD burner as superfluous. Oops.
- Try to copy said disc. With Alcohol 120% as the copying software, that could take quite a while, so while I'm doing it I'll....
- Catch up on my ledger again. I'm only a week or so behind so it shouldn't be too bad.
- Maybe write a few checks for various creditors.
- Get Andrea to help me throw a couple of SCSI cards on Ebay. (Anyone want some 32 bit PCI Ultra 320 LVD Adaptec SCSI adapters? Speak up now!
