stormdogLong day at work. I was casting minis all day and my feet hurt. Sounds like starting the end of next week there'll be a lot more to do. Kenzer and Co. is coming out with a new game that we're going to produce all the figures for in-house. Over the course of 10 days we'll crank out about 32,000 miniatures. Wow. I'm gonna be busy.
The people at work seem to have taken exception to my, shall we say, erratic schedule. Looks like I'll either be showing up regularly at nine, or with the Dwarf when I get a ride from him (which will be fairly often when we're doing miniatures stuff). Ya know, I though I was getting better at dealing with people, but when Brian (the office manager) came to ask me about when a good time for me to come in would be, I got thouroughly tongue-tied. I ended up saying nine o' clock because it was just the first think that came to mind. I don't really want to get up that early. It's an hour drive to work so I'll have to get up at 7:30 or so, but I guess I can deal with it. It also looks like I may have Mondays off starting out in a couple weeks, so that will help. He also told me that I seem to have messed up a couple of phone orders. Stuff like transposed numbers and illegible hand-writing. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Talking to customers makes me nervous. I am really no good at all at dealing with people on the phone, and never have been. I get stressed out trying to talk to people on the phone and write down their orders and add up prices all at the same time. When I'm done, it takes about half a minute to be able to focus on work again. I hate phones. Fortunately, there's no phone out in the warehouse where we cast minis. *g*
I'm actually thinking I may want to find a different job. When I first started at Kenzer I had no problem with spending however much time they wanted over there and spending two hours of my day commuting. Truthfully, I didn't really have anything better to do with my time. Since MFF though, I do, and i'm starting to really dislike spending so much time driving back and forth to work. But I guess I've got to stick it out for a while. My dad will be done with school after this semester and he'll be teaching, and my mom will hopefully have found a job again by then (she's been basically unemployed for four of five months now; terrible job market for clinical data managers I guess...) and then I want to go back to school. Maybe I'll even be sure about what I want to do there...
