May. 11th, 2007 12:35 pmMmmm. Double ramen for lunch today. I ate one of my usual comes-in-its-own-bowl garlic and shrimp ramen things from Big!Lots, and, because I was particularly hungry, followed it up with a package of 'oriental' flavored ramen-in-a-bag that I made in the same bowl. Woo-hoo; salty, slimy goodness!
No camera yesterday, but I did get an email with a tracking number for the USPS web-based tracker. I looked up the number. Along with a notation that 'information is updated every evening as available', there was one entry indicating that my package had been accepted in Florida on Monday. That was it. Apparently, more information has not been 'available'. *woofs* I really hope it shows up today. I'd like to have it for our trip to Navy Pier on Saturday!
Scheduling is becoming interesting. Andrea was going to take care of the car payment on the Rio after she got off of work today, while
serinthia and I were going to drop by
posicat's place to pick up a 21" monitor that he found for me on freecycle (!! I have the greatest tech-friends!). However, the Rio decided last night that its check engine light had been too-long idle and needed to be illuminated just to see if anyone was paying attention. She asked me if I could do the car payment tonight instead. I'm not sure if I can get there from here before they close, but I'll give it a try.
Oh, never mind! Just heard back from her; she liked my idea of stopping by where I work on the way through and trading cars with me. I think we'll go that route.
You know, there are two things that I'd really like to do when I get home tonight. One of them is playing some DDR. Yes, that's definitely one of them.
Coffee last night was very nice, despite some trepidation on my part about staying out so late. It was worth it to see people. I still don't really know who anyone there is by sight except for Mocha and Hayashi (yes, I'll admit my facial abilities are biased toward pretty boys with lots of hair), but it was a smaller group than usual and I was able to do a little more talking to people than I usually can.
The presence of はし in my backpack was apparently noteworthy, despite the absence of the "OMGWTFBBQZORZ YOU EAT WITH STICKS!!!??!" lady who we encountered at the World Buffet in Racine a few months ago. I realized today while eating my lunch that what I really should have done last night was whipped them out there and eaten my ham and scrambled eggs with them! *giggles* I don't think I've tried scrambled eggs with them yet, but it seems like it ought to be manageable.
Friday Friday Friday. It's really dragging today. Especially when I'm doing the repetitive work of account creations and deletions for all the new hires and terminations who've popped up over the last week. In the door, out the door, in the door, out the door, sometimes the same people! This company needs to make up its mind.
Oh well. I guess I'm out of stuff to say. "Goes back to tapping furiously away at his keyboard, tongue-tip protruding slightly from one side of his muzzle*
